Dorothy F. Kerr

Dorothy Frances Kerr, 79, Wayland, Missouri, formerly of Bonaparte, Iowa, died at 6:35 p.m. 1989 p.m. Monday, September 18, 1989 at Keokuk Area Hospital.

Mrs. Kerr was born April 13, 1910 at Greenville, Ohio. She and her husband William owned and published the Bonaparte Record-Republican newspaper for a number of the Westside Church of Christ of Kahoka, Missouri.

She and William R. Kerr were married September 24, 1927 at Lewistown, Illinois. He died June 18, 1986.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Johnston, Allison, Iowa; two sisters, Kathryn Cable, Troy, Ohio and Lillian Pfister, Sarasota, Florida; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, a sister and two great-grandchildren. Her parents were Frank and Mary Creager Westfall.

The body is at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 21. Burial will be in the Bonaparte Cemetery.

The family will meet friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m.

A memorial is being established with the Bonaparte First Responders. Contributions may be made at the funeral home.
