Mary Warner Davis

Mary Warner Davis, daughter of Oscar and Marie Quackenbush Haynes, was born January 10, 1917 in Jefferson County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, at the age of 72.

She grew up in Jefferson County and lived her adult life in the Bentonsport-Bonaparte area. She worked several years at the Burlington Army Ordnance Plant.

She married David Warner in 1932. He died in 1957. She married Harold T. Davis, Sr. October 8, 1960 at Waukon, Iowa.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Rodney Warner, Bonaparte; two daughters, Maxine Clark, Bonaparte, and Gloria Davis, Douds; two stepsons, Tom Davis, Bonaparte, and Doug Davis, Waynesville, Missouri; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, Robert Haynes, Keosauqua, Donald Haynes, Bowling Green, Missouri, and Billy Haynes, Wentzville, Missouri; four sisters, Patty Dillon, San Diego, California, Florence Cornelius, Fairfield, Iola Manning, Corona, California, and Mable Johnson, Liberal, Kansas. Three sisters, Doris, Dorothy and Ila, ad two brother, Everett and Harold preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 2, 1989 in the Bonaparte United Church with Reverend Phil Campbell and Reverend Fred Malone officiating. Interment was in Bonaparte Cemetery. A memorial was established.

Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, was in charge of arrangements.

Mary W. Davis rite Saturday

BONAPARTE - Mary Warner Davis, 72, Bonaparte, died at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 1989, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

The service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Bonaparte United Church with the Rev. Phil Campbell and the Rev. Fred Malone officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery. The family will be at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua from 7 to 8 tonight. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
