Leo Smith

Leo Smith, 74, a former Farmington resident, died at 1 p.m. Friday, May 26, 1989 at Burlington Care Center.

Born December 18, 1912 in Donnellson, he was the son of Henry and Laura Bowman Smith. He married Mary Townsend May 4, 1935 at Memphis, Missouri.

He had been a drag line operator for Valley Limestone and Gravel Co. at Farmington. He moved from Farmington to Burlington in 1981.

Surviving are one son, Jim Smith, West Burlington; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nellie Anders, Fort Madison.
A graveside service for Mr. Smith was held Tuesday, May 30, 1989 in the Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington with Reverend Bob Hambright officiating.

Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington was in charge of arrangements.
