Myra Jannings

Myra Jannings, 92, Donnellson, died at 6 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 1989 in Donnellson.

Mrs. Jannings was born November 17, 1896 in rural Donnellson and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a country schoolteacher for many years. She was a member of the Farmington United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, PEO, Farmington Cemetery Association, Garden Club and the Lee County Retired Teachers Association.

On June 4, 1924 at Donnellson, she was married to Glenn B. Jannings, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Glendolyne) Moore, New London, and Mrs. William (Arletta) Marsh, Farmington; a sister, Mildred Banzhof, Marshalltown; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Her parents were George and Margaret Mattern Goebel.

Services were held Tuesday, January 17, 1989 at the Farmington United Methodist Church with Reverend Fred Malone officiating. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington.

A memorial is being established with the Farmington united Methodist Church. Contributions may be made at the Hofbauer Funeral Home.
