Esther Kelley

Esther Kelley, 72, of Bettendorf, Iowa died February 10 at Mercy Hospital, Davenport.

Esther Laurene Jones was born in Columbus City, Iowa on June 10, 1916, the daughter of Harry W. (Carey) and Zelda Jones. She moved with her family to Farmington in 1917 where she attended school, graduating in 1933. In 1937, she married Murrell Kelley of For Madison, Iowa.

Mrs. Kelley retired in 1983 as a buyer after 25 years at Peterson-Harned-Von Maur department stores in the Quad City area. She was a member of Christ's Family Reformed Church, Davenport, where services were held February 13, 1989. Burial was in the Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington.

she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.

Surviving are one son, the Reverend Ronald Kelley of Evansdale; three grandchildren; one nephew, harry Warren Jones of Westmont, Illinois and a sister, Mrs. Alice Harnagel, Newhall, California.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
