Forrest E. Rider

Forrest E. Rider, 84, Farmington, died at 10 p.m. Friday, February 17, 1989 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua.

Mr. Rider was born July 19, 1904 in Farmington and was a lifelong resident of the community. He owned and operated the Iowa Nursery of Farmington.

In 1929 at Fort Madison, he married Rita F. Munford, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are two sons, Edmund and Jack, both of Farmington; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Diana) Housholder, Silvis, Illinois, Mrs. John (Joyce) Ellison, Dallas City, Illinois and Jundy Kirkham, Farmington; 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, two brothers and three grandchildren. his parents were Glenn F. and Mabel Wollenweber Rider.

Services were held Tuesday, February 21, 1989 at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington. The Reverend Fred Malone officiated. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery.

A memorial is being established with the Farmington EMT unit. Contributions may be made at the funeral home.
