Lurena E. Jack

Lurena E. Jack, 90, of Wapello, died Friday, January 20, 1989 at Burlington Medical Center.

Born July 22, 1898 in Houghton, she was the daughter of Albert and Lydia Ozbun Davis. She married Merrill Jack, July 4, 1923 in Cedar Falls. He died August 17, 1982.

She was employed as a first-grade teacher in Donnellson for 29 years, at Sacred Heart, For Madison for two years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lois (Bob) Richers, Winfield; two sons, Lowell Jack, Manhattan, Kansas and Richard Jack, Alhambra, California; one sister, Wynona Jack, Cantril; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 23, 1989 at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello with the Reverend George Yetter officiating. Burial was in Harness Cemetery, Mt. Sterling.
