GRACE A. HEALD

Grace A. Heald, daughter of Orlo S. and Anna Gheen Carnahan, was born June 6, 1899 at Pontiac, Kansas, and died the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 27, 1989 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, at the age of 90.

She grew up in Henry County, Iowa and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. She then lived and worked in Cantril and married Russell Heald September 8, 1921. They farmed near Mount Sterling and for many years operated Heald Hardware in Mount Sterling. Mr. Heald moved to Keosauqua in 1979.

She was a member of Mount Sterling United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women and had been active in Cantril Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are two sons, Luvene, Keosauqua and Glenn, Auxasse, Missouri, two daughters, Betty Warrington, Burlington and Beverly Blair, Keosauqua, 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A grandson, Todd Heald and a sister, Mabel Wollam preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 30, 1989 at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. Interment was in Harness Cemetery near Mt. Sterling. A memorial was established to build a sidewalk between County Lane Apartments and Van Buren Good Samaritan Center.

CARD OF THANKS

The family of Grace A. Heald would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to everyone who sent cards, flowers, food and memorials and gave support in our time of sorrow.

Due to your generous memorials we will be able to construct the sidewalk from Good Samaritan Center to County Lane Apartments this fall.

To the Methodist Church for the use of the dining area for the delicious meal served by the Keosauqua and Mt. Sterling Women's Society.

We cannot say enough about the wonderful care given our Mother by the Doctors, Employees of the Good Samaritan Home and the Van Buren Memorial Hospital.

To each and everyone that knew "Grace" we hope you were touched in some way. Thank you very much. God Bless You.
