Karl Willits

Karl Willits, 83, Bonaparte, died at 2:45 p.m. Friday, June 9, 1989 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua.

Born November 9, 1905 at Willits Station, he was the son of Robert and Mary Lineweaver Willits. He married Mary Ward May 26, 1928 in Fairfield.

He was a retired farmer, and a member of the Bonaparte Lions Club. He was a 40-year member of the Thompson Cemetery Association.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mary Jeanne Harward, Henderson, Nevada, and Cleda Thomas, Bonaparte; one son, Wayne Willits, Farmington; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The service for Mr. Willits was held Monday, June 12, 1989 at the Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington with the Reverend Fred Malone officiating. Burial was in Thompson Cemetery.

Memorials to the Bonaparte First Responders may be left at the funeral home.
