Aileen E. Matheson

Aileen E. Matheson, daughter of Floyd and Mae Oosthoek Moore, was born June29, 1917 near Birmingham and died the afternoon of Saturday, April 30, 1988 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua at the age of 70.

She graduated from Birmingham High School, was city librarian in Keosauqua and Huxley, and had been a dispatcher in the Van Buren County Sheriff's office. She was a member of Lynds Chapter No. 27, Order of Eastern Star. Aileen married Donald K. Matheson February 4, 1939 at Memphis, Mo.

They farmed in Van Buren County and lived in Keosauqua, Huxley and Ruthven.

Surviving are her husband, a son, Paul Deane and his wife, Bev and two grandchildren, James and Jodi Matheson of Eden Prairie, Minn., her parents of Eldon, a sister, Florence Baker, Libertyville, other relatives and friends. A sister Jeanette Samuelson and a brother, Fred W. Moore preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 2, 1988 at 1:30 P.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Don Morrison officiating. Interment was in Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua. A memorial was established for the Keosauqua Public Library.
