Ruth Jurkas

Mrs. Ruth Charbonneaux Jurkas, 85, died at 11:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 1988, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Donald Jennings Sr., Mt. Pleasant.

She was born June 21, 1922, at Lockridge, the daughter of Ralph and Mildred McElwee Charbonneaux. On July 20, 1946, she married Fred Jurkas who died Nov. 28, 1982.

Surviving are one daughter, Joanne Buczkowski, Peru, Ill.; two sons, John and Robert, both of Oglesby, Ill.; six brothers, Fred, Delta; Jim, Keosauqua; Roger, Pahrump, Nev.; Ralph Jr. and Benny, both of Logan; and Tom, Naples, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Paulene) Jennings, Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Wilbert (Linda) Meiners, Oglesby, Ill.; and five grandchildren.

Her parents and one brother, Dale, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, at 8 p.m. at the Prey Funeral Home, Oglesby, Ill. Interment will be in the Deer Park Cemetery, LaSalle County, Ill.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Prey Funeral Home. Beatty-Wilkins Funeral Home. Beatty-Wilkins Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
