Fern Anderson

Fern (Pee Wee) Anderson, 78, Bonaparte, died at 9:40 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 1988 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua.

Mr. Anderson was born March 3, 1909 at Keosauqua. A longtime Bonaparte resident, he was a retired farmer and was a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church of Bonaparte. He was a past master of the Bonaparte Masonic Lodge.

On June 30, 1934 at Bonaparte, he married Maude E. Russell, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are a son, Donald Anderson of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Beverly) Siekman, Burlington, and Mrs. Tom (Shirley) Kinney, Johnston, Iowa; two brothers, Roy A. Anderson, West Chester, Iowa and Gerald K. Anderson, Tacoma, Washington; two sisters, Keo Bartholomew and Freda Burke, both of Puyallup, Washington; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother. His parents were Owen and Eva Stewart Anderson.

Funeral services were held at Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington on Wednesday, January 20, 1988. The Reverend Kenneth Harden officiating. Burial was in Vale Cemetery, Bonaparte.

A memorial is being established with the Heart Fund.

We wish to thank all the neighbors and friends who generously opened their hearts with food, cards, flowers, calls and donations to the Fern Anderson Memorial (Bonaparte First Responders).

A special thanks to the Masons, pallbearers, Harrisburg Baptist Ladies and the Eastern Star Ladies for the lovely meal. To our very special friend and minister, Rev. Kenneth Harden, who especially filled our needs with kindness and memories of our father.
