Harlan Mellott

Harlan Mellott, 73, of Milton, died at 5 a.m. Feb. 9, 1988, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City.

He was born Dec. 17, 1914, in Packwood to William and Goldie Sipe Mellott. He had lived most of his life in Wright and Howard Counties and was a farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II and member of American Legion.

He is survived by two sons, Keith and Kenneth of Fairfield; a daughter, Cathy Ehlert of Carthage, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services, with military rites, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 1988 at Sunnyside Cemetery, near Milton, the Rev. Charles Kaufmann officiating.

Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, was in charge of arrangements.
