George E. Turnipseed, son of James and Nettie Allen Turnipseed was born August 19, 1900 in Wellman, Iowa and died February 13, 1988 in Northeast Baptist Hospital, San Antonio, Texas at the age of 87.
He farmed near Libertyville, operated his own livestock truck retired to Douds in 1972 and moved to Schertz, Texas in 1982.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Douds.
George married Edith E. Sheets March 26, 1927. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Marjorie Cudworth of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Lucile Miller, Fairfield, Ruth Childress, Lincoln, Nebraska and Ada Kiefer, Des Moines. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 18, 1988 at 3 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds with Reverend Stephen Conte officiating. Interment was in Fell Cemetery near Libertyville. Memorials may be sent to Mrs. Edith Turnipseed, 16513 IH35, North Schertz, Texas 78154.
