J. Vance Dille

J. Vance Dille, 78, of Birmingham died Jan. 28, 1988, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

He was born Jan. 4, 1910, in Douds to Edwin and Sarah Hodson Dille. He worked for the Farmers Store in Birmingham and the Dexter Company in Fairfield. He was retired from Rockwell International. He married Grace Gregory Aug. 4, 1935 in Memphis, Mo.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Myrna Cook of Batavia, Nedra Letts of Coal Valley, Ill., and Nedra Letts of Coal Valley, Ill., and Marva Richards of Columbus Junction; six grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and a sister, Ina Hootman of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by a son, Shannon.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 1988 at First Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, the Rev. Charles McCracken officiating. Burial was in Winchester Cemetery southwest of Birmingham. Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church new building fund or Birmingham First Responders.
