J. Floyd Sidwell

J. Floyd Sidwell, son of N.E. and Sarah Frazee Sidwell, was born March 7, 1903 in Putnam County, Missouri and departed this life the afternoon of Saturday, Jan. 30, 1988 at Nelson Nursing Home, Fairfield, at the age of 84.

He attended Troy High School and farmed near Troy until retiring to Douds in 1979.

He married Leona Evans December 10, 1929 in the Methodist Parsonage at Douds. She remains to cherish his memory with their son, Kenneth and his wife, Peggy of Fairfield, a granddaughter, Loretta Sidwell and a grandson, Sean Sidwell. Also surviving are two step-granddaughters, Becky Krebill and Debbie Grogan, a brother, Ed of Ottumwa, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. An infant son, two sisters and six brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1988 at 11 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds, with Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Interment was in Leando Cemetery. A memorial was established for Alzheimer's Disease research.
