V.W. "Bud" Davis, son of Charlie and Anna Turnbull Davis, was born July 23, 1915 in Davis County and died the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1988 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 72.
He spent his life farming Davis and Van Buren Counties, living on his present farm southwest of Douds since 1947. He was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church.
He married Alice Marie Archer April 16, 1938 in Bloomfield.
She remains to cherish his memory with their two sons, Rollin and his wife Gloria of Douds and Marion and his wife Lovenia of Des Moines, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
His parents, three sisters, a grandson and a great grandson preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 19, 1988 at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds with Rev. Stephen Conte officiating. Interment was in Bethlehem Cemetery near Floris. Memorials may be sent in care of the funeral home.
