Orin W. Smith Sr.

Orin W. Smith Sr., 66, of Route 4, West Burlington, died 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 1988, in an automobile accident west of Danville.

Born June 27, 1922, he was the son of Harry W. and Olivia Wick Smith. He married Barbara A. Niederhuth Feb. 3, 1962, in Monmouth, Ill.

He was a plaster contractor, and was a member of the West Avenue Baptist Church and the VFW. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Debbi Smith, Aurora, Colo., and Jackie Smith, at home. Also surviving are two daughters by a previous marriage, Sharon Cross, Burlington, and Diane Smith, Austin, Texas; two sons by a previous marriage, Gary Smith and Orin Smith Jr., both of Burlington; one brother, Ronnie Smith, Burlington; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel.

The service for Mr. Smith will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Gordon Simms officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
