Arthur Alexander

Arthur Alexander, 86, of Wyaconda, Mo., died t 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Clark County Nursing Home.

He was born Jan. 14, 1900, in Van Buren County, Iowa, the son of Emery E. and Gertie Cavett Alexander. He married Clara Alice Burns on Dec. 11, 1926, in Keosauqua, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 8, 1972.

He had lived and farmed in and near Wyaconda, Mo. for the last 50 years.

Survivors include son, Dale Eugene of Mesa, Ariz.; daughter Evelyn Ladwig of Kahoka, Mo.; brothers Wiley of Keosauqua, Neil of alpha, Ill. and Roy of Jefferson, Iowa; sisters Mrs. Grace Brewer of Milton, Iowa and Mrs. Letha Scott of Fort Madison; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers and two sisters.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shaffer and Sons Funeral Home in Kahoka with the Rev. Ernest Deatrick officiating. Burial will be in the Wyaconda Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Friday with the family meeting friends from 7-9 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the family.
