Darius Derr, Sr.

Services for Darius Derr, Sr., 96, Croton, were held Monday, October 19, 1987 at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Donnellson. The Reverend Kenneth Harden officiated. Burial was in the Charleston Cemetery.

Mr. Derr died at 8:35 p.m. Friday, October 16, 1987 at the Donnellson Manor Care Center.

He was born February 19, 1891, at Charleston. A long-time resident of Croton, he was a retired farmer.

On March 15, 1911, at Fort Madison, he married Ada Cloud, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are a son, Darius Derr, Jr., Farmington; two daughters, Mrs. Glen (Stella) Ware, Donnellson, and Darlene Vantiger, Denmark; a brother, George Derr, Farmington; 23 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, four daughters, four brothers, four sisters, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. His parents were Screno and Arvilla Allen Derr.

A memorial is being established with the Charleston Cemetery. Contributions may be made at the Hofbauer Funeral Home.
