Opal Stott Thomas

Mrs. Opal Belle Thomas passed away October 30, 1987 at Kirksville Hospital in Kirksville, Mo., where she had been a patient since October 7.

She was born Sept. 1, 1909 at Keokuk, Iowa to Elizabeth Justice and Liona Eichelberger.

She married Lawrence Stott on Sept. 1, 1927. He died in 1971. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a son, Donald Stott.

She married Marion Thomas, who survives. They lived in Memphis, Mo. and also farmed south of Mt. Sterling, Iowa.

She leaves to mourn her passing: one daughter, Neva Sean of Memphis; two sons and their spouses, Lavern and Alta, Leland and Margie of Memphis; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Stull of Decatur, Ill., Bethel Pritchard of Houston, Mo., Mrs. Rachel Brewer of Keosauqua, Iowa; other relatives and a host of friends.

Services were held Sunday, Nov. 1 at the Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery.
