Tom Beresford

Tom Beresford, 36, of The Colony, Texas, was killed in a construction accident at 12:18 p.m. Nov. 18, 1987, in Plano, Texas.

He was born March 12, 1951, in Monmouth, Ill., to Dean and Edna Hamburg Beresford. He was reared near Keosauqua and graduated from Van Buren High School in 1969. He had farmed and been employed by Osborne Oil Company in Keosauqua, had been a 4-H leader and served on the Van Buren County Fair Board. He worked for Jenson Construction Company in Texas and attended United Methodist Church in The Colony. He moved to Texas in 1984. He married Janice Gowey Aug. 18, 1974, in Batavia.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Abby, Emmy and Loria at home; his parents, Dean and Edna Beresford of rural Keosauqua; and two sisters, Dinna Caves and Dixie Greenfield of Douds.

The service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. Burial was in Forbes Cemetery north of Keosauqua.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
