Rhea Brombaugh

Rhea E. Brombaugh, 65, Route 1, Stockport, died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1987, at home.

She was born Nov. 26, 1921, in Harrisburg Township, Van Buren County, the daughter of John and Nellie Meyers Stecker. She married Robert Brombaugh on April 15, 1945.

Mrs. Brombaugh had lived her entire life in Harrisburg Township. She was a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church and Women's Missionary Society.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Richard, Stockport, and Marvin, Champaign, Ill.; two daughters, Linda Jaffe, Trumbull, Conn., and Susan Davis, Morton, Ill.; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Dean Stecker, Hillsboro; Lester Stecker, Bonaparte; and Gilbert Stecker, Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Irma Elliott, Bonaparte, and Neva Carter, Stockport.

Services will be Friday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. at the Harrisburg Baptist Church north of Bonaparte. The Rev. Lester Smith and the Rev. Ed Newman will officiate with interment in Vale Cemetery.

The family will be at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorials have been established for her church or the Van Buren County Nursing Service.
