Iris L. Dalldorf

Iris L. Dalldorf, 78, died at 7:30 a.m. Nov. 30, 1987, at the Burlington Care Center.

She was born Aug. 21, 1909, in Nevada, Mo., to E.A. and Vanna Genkins Orris. She was reared in the Batavia and Fairfield communities and she graduated from Fairfield High School. She was a clerk at Spurgeon's in Fairfield before her marriage and spent her married life in New York City. She returned to Iowa four years ago. She married Albert J. Dalldorf in 1931 in New York City.

She is survived by a brother, Ted Orris of Burlington; and two sisters, Edna Hicks of Burlington and Cleo Barton of Keosauqua. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Jean Dalldorf in 1982.

The service was held Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1987 at Raymond Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert Patterson officiating.

The body was cremated following the service, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the Animal Rescue League.
