Joseph L. Peterman, Sr.

Joseph L. Peterman, Sr., 89, Route 1, Argyle, died at 10:10 p.m. Friday, November 20, 1987 at Fort Madison Community Hospital. He had been ill five weeks.

Mr. Peterman was born September 19, 1898 at Niota, Illinois and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a retired farmer and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Montrose.

Surviving are three sons, Joseph L. Peterman, Jr., Farmington, Gary D. Peterman, Argyle, and Larry E. Peterman, Donnellson; three daughters, Mrs. Gene (Delphia) Bryant and Mrs. Darrell (Ruth) Hoskins, both of Donnellson, and Mrs. William (Whilla) Shinn, Argyle; a sister, Mrs. Verine Hooten, Marion, Illinois; 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters. His parents were John and Anna Boddeker Peterman.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 24, 1987 at St. Joseph's Church in Montrose. The Reverend Leroy J. Bergthold officiated. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.

A memorial is being established. Contributions may be made at the King-Lynk Funeral Home.
