Vesta Waugh rites Tuesday

Vesta B. Waugh, 89, of Fairfield died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Nelson Nursing Home, where she had lived since September 1985.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Batavia with the Rev. Charles E. Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery at Libertyville. Friends may call as they desire at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, where memorials to Mrs. Waugh's church may be left.

Mrs. Waugh was born Sept. 11, 1897 in Keokuk County, the daughter of Jean and Anna Yule Davis. She married William C. Waugh Nov. 17, 1915 at Osceola. They farmed near Libertyville, moving to 303 E. Broadway in Fairfield in 1965. He died in 1975.

Surviving are a daughter Marion Waugh of Fairfield; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and a sister, Opal Armstrong of Clearwater, Fla. Two sons, a daughter, a grandson, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Waugh was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
