Former Milton resident Bill Standard, 66, of Burlington died Sept. 26, 1987, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
He was born May 21, 1920 in Pulaski to Millard and Elizabeth Standard. He was owner/operator of Bartells Electric Motors and was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II.
He is survived by his wife; six children, James Jr., Patricia, Dennis, Steven, Tim, and Betty Weinrich; 11 grandchildren; a great grandchild; a brother, R.E. Standard of Galesburg, Ill.; two sisters, Betty Hargrove of Republic, Mo., and Martha Aery, of Las Cruces, N.M.
The service was held Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1987 at Prugh's Funeral Chapel in Burlington.
