Agnes H. Peacock

Agnes H. Peacock, daughter of William and Anna Hallberg Sandy, was born April 5, 1908 at Kane, Penn., and died the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 10, 1984 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 76.

As a child she moved with her parents to Iowa. On Dec. 16, 1932, she married Rex Peacock. They have lived their married life in the Lebanon community.

Remaining are her husband, Rex, four sons, Royale and Karl both of rural Keosauqua, Wendell of Douds and Paul of Lancaster, California and a daughter, Mina Zollars of Keosauqua and their spouses. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, four brothers, Melvin Sandy of Keosauqua, William Sandy of Morning Sun, Chester Sandy of Jamestown, New York and Ralph Sandy of Peoria, Ill.; four sisters, Alice Kifer of Douds, Edna Hall of Benton Harber, Mich., Dorothy Harryman of Fairfield, and Lucille Scheihing of West Burlington, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Henrietta Bentzinger, a grandson, Dean Zollars, and three sisters, Ellen Galpin, Wilma Mitchell, and Berdina Crawford as well as her parents.

Mrs. Peacock was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Lebanon United Methodist Church, with Rev. Chris Daniel and Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Interment was in the Lebanon Cemetery. Arrangments were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua. A memorial was established for her church.
