Henry J. Paris

Henry J. Paris, son of Dennis and Emma Hudson Paris, was born Nov. 4, 1913 in Luray, Mo., and died Thursday, July 14, 1983, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 69.

As a boy he moved with his family to Milton where he had resided ever since. On Aug. 2, 1938 he married Ruby Wheaton in Memphis, Mo.

She remains with their son, Technical Sergeant James Paris, Hollman, New Mexico; three daughters, Nancy Hill, Cantril, Patricia Anderson, Albia; and Betty Weddell, Prairie City. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, a granddaughter-in-law, and a sister, Helen Hull, Denver, Colo., other relatvies and friends.

His parents and a brother, Clive, preceded him in death.

Henry was employed many years as a machine operator at John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring in 1974.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of Russell-Strait Post No. 483, American Legion at Milton.

He was a devoted husband and father, a good neighbor and friend.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 18, 1983 at 10 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Interment with military rites in charge of Russell-Strait Post was in Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton. Memorials were established for Russell-Strait Post or Van Buren County Memorial Hospital Laboratory.
