Mrs. Wilburn W. Wilson
Mrs. Wilburn W. Wilson, formerly Mary Jane Loomis, daughter of the late Isreal and Clarissa Loomis, was born in Erie county, Pennsylvania, December 27, 1829, and died Feb. 23, 1915, aged 85 years, one month and 27 days.
With her parents she emigrated to Holmes county, Ohio, in 1836 and to Van Buren county, Iowa, in 1847. She was united in matrimony with Wilburn W. Wilson Oct. 25, 1848, and to this union nine sons were born, two of whom died in infancy. Albert N., Edson, and Warren L. died in early manhood; and Henry C. of Longmont, Colo.; Oscar R. of Kansas City, Mo.; Elmer J. of Bonaparte, Iowa; and Louis E. Of Astoria, Oregon, survive. The husband and father died Dec. 28, 1911, at the advanced age of 89 years, one month, and 9 days.
She was converted under the preaching of Rev. J.W. Ferguson, united with the Methodist Episcopal church in August, 1867, and was a constant worker for same until sickness and infirmities prevented her taking any active part in ___ work.
Funeral services were held at Story Chapel Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Jordan in charge.
