The funeral of Mrs. Antonie Jongewaard, whose death occurred Wednesday of last week and was briefly mentioned in the Herald, took place from the First Reformed church in this city on Friday, Revs W. J. Duiker and T. W. Muilenburg conducting the services. Mrs. Jongewaard lived twelve miles north of Orange City and her death was caused by puerperal fever. She was thirty one years of age and leaves a husband and four small children, the oldest of whom is six years and the youngest only two weeks old. Deceased was an excellent woman in every relation of life, and possessed the love and esteem of a large circle of friends. The utmost sympathy is felt in the community for the bereaved husband and little ones. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Jongwaard of this city have taken the baby and will care for it.

His first wife was Cornelia ‘Kate’ Bogaard born 25 Jul 1861 Pella IA died 31 May 1893 Orange City IA. They were married 9 Feb 1885 Orange city IA. Their children were Albert A. 1887, Winifred 1889, Arie 1890, and Cornelis 1893-1893. After Kate died Anthony married Maria Johanna Haverkamp 1863-1945. They had several more children.
