Son of Hinderk Janssen Tutje 1830 and Hinderina Jacob De Vries 1834. He married Florence Emogene Fassett born 11 May 1865 Lorraine Jefferson NY died 7 Sep 1936 Matlock. Her parents were Henry P. Fassett 1841-1896 and Gertrude Irene Wise 1842-1917.

Florence was married first to Frank Chester Bishop 1858-1892, Married 4 Feb 1886 Lorraine Jefferson Co. NY. they had three children Henry L. Bishop 1886, Frank Chester Bishop 18890-1948 and Gertrude Bishop 1891. She on 26 Aug 1896 at Matlock IA married Jacob Hinderiks Tutje, and the had four children Etta Henderina Tutje 1897-1973, Margaret Trientje Tutje 1903 and John Henry Tutje 1907-1976.
