Mrs. Henry Churchyard Passed Away in California Tuesday
Word was received here Tuesday of the death of Mrs. Henry Churchyard, former resident of (this vicinity, who passed away that day at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Roy Woodward, at Fort Bragg, Calif. No particulars were given in the telegram and relaives here did not know of her being i11.
Anna Younie was born at Manchester, Delaware county, Iowa, and was 81 years of age at the time of her death. She grew to young womanhood
in Delaware county, and later came to Sac county where she was married to James Waugh two sons were born to this union, both of whom died when
they were small. Mr. Waugh passed away more than 56 years ago. After his death she came to the Hawarden vicinity and for a time made her home
with her parents. In 1884 she was united in marriage with Henry Churchyard of Hawarden and to this union four children were born, three daughters and one son. For many years the Churchyard family lived in Eagle township, but more than 25 years ago they moved to the state of Washington and lived at Greenacres. One son,
Wendell Churchyard, died a number of years ago and Mr. Churchyard passed away five or six years ago. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs.
Roy Woodward of Fort Bragg, Calif.; Mrs. Irene Dell of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Mae McArter of Seattle, Wash. She also leaves four brothers, Alex and James Younie of Hawarden;
Will Younie of Schaller, Iowa, and Dave Younie of Mitchell, S. D., and one sister, Mrs. Jeanette Bruce of nid, Okla.
