Death of Mrs. Wm. M. Vugteveen

Funeral services were held in the Christian Reformed church in Rock Valley last Friday afternoon. The services were largely attended by friends of the family. The remains were taken to Valley View Cemetery.

Mrs. Vugteveen was born in the Netherlands April 24, 1883, and died July 23, 1935, aged fifty-two years and three months. At the age of eight she came to this country, and made her home at Patterson, N.J., where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage with Christian Jabaay in 1908. Two children were born to this union, John, who lives at Sibley, Iowa, and Bertha, still at home. Her husband died at Denver, Colorado, in 1921. Two years later she was united in marriage with Wm. M. Vugteveen, and had lived in this vicinity until death claimed her.

About eleven years ago she suffered a stroke and from that time she failed gradually, and about two years ago she became an invalid in which condition she remained until death relieved her. Everything possible was done for her but to no avail.

Besides other relatives in this vicinity, she leaves her husband, Wm. M. Vugteveen, and the two children mentioned above. The many friends of the bereaved husband and children extend to them sincere sympathy in their bereavement.
