RIKKERS, KOERSELMAN, VANSURKSUM, VANDIEREN, STALL, WALLENBURG

Richard Rikkers, 74, of Hull died Wednesday after arrival at a Sioux Center hospital. Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the American Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Herman Van Galen will officiate. Burial was in Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Rikkers was born Nov. 21, 1909, at Hull. He married Geraldine Koerselman Dec. 30, 1927, at Elk Point, S.D. She died Nov. 10, 1973. He married Christina Van Surksum April 29, 1975, at Hospers. He farmed south of Hull, retiring in 1977.

Mr. Rikkers was a member of the American Reformed Church, former president of Hope Cemetery Board and former member of the boards of directors of Farmers Co-op Elevator and Farmers Co-op Gas and Oil.

Survivors include his wife; one son, LeRoy of Hull; one stepson, Kenneth Van Dieren of Rochester, N.Y.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Gerrit (Jeanette) Van Grotheest of Rock Valley and Mrs. Glen (Beverly) Van Bochove of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two sisters, Mrs. Bernard (Johanna) Moss of Hull and Margaret Rikkers of Long Beach, Calif.; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; seven step-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter.

RICHARD RIKKERS

Mr. Richard Rikkers, age 74, of Hull, passed away Wednesday, February 1, upon arrival at the Sioux Center Community Hospital.

Richard Martin Rikkers was born November 21, 1909, at Hull, the son of Rutger Rikkers and Jeanette Stall Rikkers. On December 30, 1927, he married Geraldine Koerselman at Elk Point, South Dakota. They farmed south of Hull. Mrs. Rikkers passed away November 10, 1973. On April 29, 1975, he married Christina Wallenburg Van Surksum at Hospers. They continued to farm until retiring in 1977.

Mr. Rikkers was a member of the American Reformed Church at Hull. He was a former president of the board of directors of Hope Cemetery, a former member of the boards of directors of Farmers Co-op Elevator and Farmers Co-op Gas and Oil, and a former member of the Hull Betterment Committee.
