L. M. Beckman, Former Hull Boy, Buried Here on Tues.
Lester M. ("Curley") Becknian, 54 years of age, died at his home at 5601 Stone Avenue, In Sioux City, Iowa, Friday night, June 9th. after a short
illness.
Mr. Beckman was born May 2S,1887, at Hull. Iowa. He lived at Rock Valley and Sheldon before going to Sioux City in 1914. For the last 25 years he has been employed by the Booth Fisheries corporation and the C. S. Van Eaton company.
A World War veteran, Mr. Beckman served a year in France.
He married Fay Bodum on January 21st 1920, at Sioux Falls. Surviving are the widow; one daughter, Marion of Sioux City; five brothers, Harry of Sioux City, Alfred of Inwood. Clarence of Melvin, Victor of San Francisco and Fred of Raymond Washington; a sister. Mrs. Sylvia Shreves, and the mother. Mrs. Mary Lickel. both of Salem, Oregon.
The funeral of Mr. Beckman was held here Tuesday afternoon at 2:45 o'clock at Hone Cemetery. The Wegman Post of the American Legion had charge of the services. Pall bearers were Bert Vander Schaaf, Art Visser, Wm. Lutjens. Oscar Rudloff. Guy Ver Steeg and Ed C. Reimann. Henry Dahl was in charge of the firing squad which was made up of John Witte, Reyer Van Aken. Sidney Boogerd, R.E. Bos, Wm. Oositenink. Frank De Roos. Bill Schol. Frank Mak, Ben Nymeyer, Steve Faiber, Henry Huibregtse, Casey Heyman. Neal Moss,
John Heusinkveld and Henry J. Victoria

The Beckmans left Hull some thirty years ago tout there are still many here who rememlber them, and extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved
relatives.
