Eva Van Berkum, 87, of Inwood, Iowa, formerly of Sioux Falls, died Friday, February 8, 2002 at Fellowship Village at Inwood. Funeral service was held Tuesday at First Reformed Church in In wood with burial at Hills of Rest Memorial Park in Sioux Falls, SD.

Eva was born December 24, 1914 at Middleburg, Iowa, daughter of Cornelius and Albertha (Neyenhuis) Van Oort. She married Edwin Henry Van Berkum on September 5, 1940 on the family farm northwest of Iowa. Eva and Ed lived at Bellflower, CA, Orange City and Lester, Iowa before moving to Sioux Falls in 1943 where Ed owned Van's Garage Business for 30 years, and they were charter members of the "Community Reformed Church.

Eva and Ed moved to Inwood' in 1987 and became members of the First Reformed Church. Ed died January 19,1999.

Surviving relatives are 3 sons and their wives, Henry and Barb Van Berkum of Sioux Falls, SD, Larry Dean and Bonnie Van Berkum of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Pastor Roy and Teri Van Berkum of Rapid City, SD; daughter and husband Beverly and Eugene VerSteeg of Inwood; 3 brothers and their wives, Albert and Jeariette Van Oort of Rock Valley, IA, Henry and Myrna Van Oort of Rock Rapids, IA, Arnold and Marianne Van Oort of Berry, MN; -2 sisters and their husbands, Jane and Weber Burgers of Rock Valley, IA, Harriet and Will Thompson of Sioux Falls, SD; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
