Andrew Van Der Vliet
Andrew Van Der Vliet, 69, of Sioux Center died Thursday, December 3, in a Sioux City hospital. Services were Monday at Carmel Reformed Church in Carmel, the Rev. Virgil Dykstra officiating. Burial was at Carmel Cemetery.

Van Der Vliet was born March 28, 1919, in rural Carmel. He lived his youth in Carmel and attended Plato Rural School. He married Nellie Feekes February 13, 1947, at Carmel. The couple farmed west of Carmel. He served in the Army in Europe during World War II from 1941 to 1945. He was a' member of Carmel Reformed Church.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Glenn of Sheldon and Brian of Sioux Center; a daughter, Arlis De Weerd of Rock Valley; three brothers, Walt of Sheldon, Ed of Sioux Center and Cornie of Luverne, Minnesota; three sisters, Hattie Ver Mulm and Winnie Ver Mulm, both of Rock Valley, and Mina De Jong of Montevideo, Minnesota; and nine grandchildren.
