HERMAN VAN ENGEN
Herman Van Engen, 63, of Alcester died suddenly Monday at his farm home. Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Christian Reformed Church in Hawarden, Iowa. The Rev. William VanDerHeide officiated. Burial was in the Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden. Visitation was from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Mr. Van Engen was born June 24, 1920, at Doon, Iowa. He married Henrietta Van Hulzen April 16, 1948, at Hills, Minn. They lived at Doon for six years before moving to Alcester.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bernard of Hospers, Iowa, and David of Hudson; one daughter, Mrs. Duane (Marjorie) Ott of Farmington, Minn.; one brother, Dick of Melvin, Iowa; five sisters, Suzanne Van Engen and Mrs. Gys Vanden Brink, both of Coopersville, Mich., Mrs. Herman Howerda of Doon, Mrs. Gerrit Oldenkamp of Hull, Iowa, and Mrs. Alfred Goldhorn of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and six grandchildren.
