Dick Van Engen, 79,-Doon, died Friday at a Sheldon nursing home after a long illness. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Doon Christian Reformed Church with Rev. William Dryfhout officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Van Engen was born December 13, 1899 in Orange City. He married Henrietta Pap February 14, 1924 in Doon; She died February 2, 1966. He is a life long farmer in the boon area..

Survivors include: two sons, Dale and Norman, both of Alta Loma, California; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrie (Delphine) Kelderman of Doon and Mrs. Roger (Janice) Baartman of Sagua, California; a sister, Mrs. Sue Pap of Sheldon; 26 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
