Rites held here Tuesday for
Mrs. Sy Hogan
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, at the First Christian Reformed church here for Mrs. Syne (Moline) Hogan, 56, who died here Thursday following a lingering illness with cancer.
Burial was made in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery under the direction of Cooperative Funeral Service.
Mrs. Hogan, nee Moline Scholten, was born November 2, 1903, at Hull, and spent all of her childhood in that community. She was married to Syne Hogan at Hull on April 6, 1922, and to this union five children were born.
The couple resided on a farm southwest of Sioux Center for 23 years. The last 10 years they lived near Perkins and on January 1, 1962, moved to Sioux Center.
Surviving her are the widower and the following children; Alma (Mrs. Steve Kramer) of Maurice, Muriel (Mrs. Peter Visser) of Sioux Center, Norman of Lakewood, Calif., Laura (Mrs. Bob Cooper ) of Escondido, Calif., and Orlin of Grand Rapids, Mich. There are 22 grandchildren. She also .leaves five sisters, Mrs. Henry Oostenink of Hull, Mrs. Gerrit Kempers of Sioux Center, Mrs. Case Vermeer of Rock Valley, Mrs. Herman Brouwer of Milwaukee, Wisc., and Mrs. Paul Groeneweg of Rock Valley, and one brother, Albert, of Rock Valley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.
