Alma Joyce Vail Berkum, 67, of Sioux Center, died Wednesday July 3, 1996 at the Marian Health Center in Sioux City. She was born to William & Anna (Juffer) Sneller on August 1, 1928 in Sioux Center. Alma graduated from Lester High School. She married Garrold Van Berkum on July 26, 1946 in Lester, Iowa. She drove school bus for 22 years. She was a member of the First Reformed Church, the R C W M , and the Lydia Circle. Her interests were her grandchildren and serving others.
Survivors include: two daughters: Patsy of Sioux Center, & Susan & Leonard De Groot of Orange City, LA, two sons Bill & Connie and Ivan & Colleen all of Sioux Center; 11 grandchildren Kevin, Nolan, Leon, Molly, Evie Aim, Jonathan, David, Jesse, Amy, David, & Jan, two great grandchildren Jayden & Brenden, sister Edna & Bert Garrison of Rock Rapids, IA, and brother Wilmer(Bill) & Vivian Sneller of Seattle, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents & husband.
