Survived by: wife, Donna (nee Williams) Rasmussen of Harlan, IA; sons, Mark Rasmussen of Harlan, IA, and Erik Rasmussen of Glenwood, IA; grandchildren, Matthew Rasmussen of Harlan, Iowa, and Katie Ann Rasmussen of Ames, Iowa; other relatives and friends

Predeceased by: parents, Hans Christian and Lula (nee Boeck) Rasmussen; brother, Bob Rasmussen; sister, Karlene Rasmussen

Education: Elementary and high school in Harlan, IA; graduated Harlan High School, Class of 1952.

Religious affiliation: baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Harlan, IA

Military service: U. S. Marine Corps, 1953 – 1956

Marriage: (1) Doris Dalrymple, 1957; no place provided. They later divorced. (2) Donna Marie Williams, Jan. 21, 1989, Little Brown Church, Nashua, IA.

Employment: After his military experience, he returned home to help with the Harlan Cement Works, the family business. Franklin purchased the business from his father upon his father’s retirement. In turn, Franklin’s son, Mark, purchased the business from his father in 2000. In the 1980’s, Franklin also worked with Bill Brower to build homes in around Harlan.

Hobbies/Interests: life-long member, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan; had served as treasurer; active with the Boy Scouts; loved to travel and to fish. Franklin was one of 3 men who founded Concerned, Inc. in Harlan, which has grown considerably over the years and is now located on Industrial Parkway.
