Hobbies/Interests: While growing up, was active in 4-H and later served as leader for the Lincoln Bluebirds 4-H club; member, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan, IA, teaching Sunday School and Bible School, was a Circle leader, and did mission quilting; member, Zenobia Rebekah Lodge #286 and was a past Noble Grand; received the Shelby County Homemaker Award in 1965 from the Harlan (IA) Chamber of Commerce; member, SI (Self-Improvement) Club; member, the CW (Cheerful Workers) Community Club; formed an Extension knitting club; enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing, vegetable and fruit gardening; particularly enjoyed spending time with family
