Brand, Edith Pearl Hutchison -
Edith Pearl (Hutchison) Brand was born on March 4, 1903 and departed this life on November 26, 1997 at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston, Iowa.
Edith was born near Gage, Okla., to John Alpheus and Gertrude Belle Maude (Greer) Hutchison. The Hutchison family had moved from Bedford, Iowa to Oklahoma before Edith was born. In 1913 the family moved from Oklahoma to Culdesac, Idaho where they homesteaded a small farm. In 1916 they moved to Montana.
Edith graduated from the Forsyth, Montana High School, being in the first class to graduate from the new high school.
In 1922 after graduation, Edith returned to the Bedford area where her Aunt Mae Brand lived. On June 11, 1923 she married Roy Brand. They lived in the Kent, Creston and Shannon City areas. In 1958 they moved to Clearfield.
Roy passed away in 1967 and Edith continued in that home until 1981. She moved to Clearfield Manor where she lived until she entered Clearview Home in 1996.
Edith was baptized at an early age and attended the Church of God. She also attended the Clearfield Methodist Church as health permitted.
She leaves to mourn her two daughters: Waunita Sobotka (husband, Leo) and Bernita Tharp (husband Don); step-son Carl Brand (wife Martha); nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Preceding her were her parents, husband a brother, Roy Hutchison.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997 at the United Methodist Church in Clearfield with the Rev. Alan Rusk officiating. Music was provided by Patty Parrish and Deb Briggs.
Casketbearers were Everett Tribolet, Earl Tribolet, Russell Akers, Dan Huey, Larry Brand, and Carroll Baker.
Interment was at the Clearfield Cemetery. Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
