Lysinger, Lola M Reed Smith Freeman Mundell -
Lola M. Lysinger was born March 5, 1913 in Lenox, Iowa the daughter of William Harrison Reed and Edith Myrtle Hewitt.
Lola grew up in the Creston area and attended the Creston schools, graduating in 1931. Most of her adult life was spent in the Creston area.
She married Clifford Smith in 1931, in 1935 she married Earl "Snooze" Freeman, to which she was married to for 30 years and in 1967 she married Jerry Mundell.
Lola was a clerk at the Woolworth's Department store while she attended school. After graduating high school she went to work for J.C. Penney's and was the first catalog manager in the state of Iowa. Lola retired in 1972.
Lola was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Creston, Betty Stough Circle, Sunday school teacher and was the treasurer for the U.T.U. Auxiliary (railroad).
Lola died October 28, 1997, at her home in Creston at the age of 84 years, 7 months, 23 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, 3 husbands and an infant brother.
Surviving Lola are her daughter Pat Waibel of Creston, a step-son Jerry Lee Mundell of Texas, a step-son Joe Lysinger (wife Sandy) of
Sacramento, California, a sister Beulah Healey of Gothenburg, Nebraska, 1 grandchild, 4 stepgrandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 3 step greatgrandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 30, 1997 at the Presbyterian Church in Creston with Rev. Joyce Basler-Knoth and Dr. Robert Pickerel! officiating. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Visitation was held Wednesday evening at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Creston.
Serving as pallbearers were Karl Knock, Russ Booth, Jim Norman, Jerry Nurnberg, Frank Gale. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Petznick, Gail Potts, Robert Custer, Harry Freeman and Milo Showers.
Memorial contributions were to Green Valley Hospice and to the family.
