ROY STAMPER, 72, DIES HERE SUNDAY

Services Tuesday

Roy Stamper, 72, of 210 N. E. Fenway, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday [1977] in the Jane Phillips Building of the local Medical Center [Bartleville, Oklahoma].

Mr. STAMPER was born on April 5, 1904 near Clearfield, Iowa. He grew up and attended schools around Burlington, Colo. and later worked at Casper, Wyo. He also worked in construction as a tunnel driller in Wyoming, New York City, North Carolina, and at the Hoover Dam, and was employed by the B.F. Goodrich Company during World War II.

Mr. STAMPER made the family home at Bentonville, Ark. in 1945 where he was active as a plumber and farmer until 1966 when they moved to Bartleville to establish the F. & S. Plumbing in which he was active until his retirement due to ill helath in 1972. He was married to Nellie Lucille McCASH in 1931 at Casper, Wyo. and she preceeded him in death in 1941. He married Iva Jean SNEED in 1941 at Blue Ridge, Ga. Mr. STAMPER was a member of the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.

Mr. STAMPER is survived by his wife, Iva Jean of the home; seven sons, Harold STAMPER of Terlton, Richard STAMPER of Tulsa, Jack STAMPER of Ponca City, Gary STAMPER of Bixby and Kenneth STAMPER, Jim STAMPER, and Jerry STAMPER, all of Bartleville; three daughters, Mrs. Roy Jean BENNETT of Sedan, Kan., Linda BLEVINS of Bartleville, and Dana KING of Tulsa; one brother Ted STAMPER of Casper, Wyo.; two sisters, Galene TOWERS of Abilene, Kan., and Gladys CHAPMAN of Twin Falls, Idaho, and 20 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Will CARL of the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery.

Those who wish may call at the Stumpff Funeral Home prior to the services as the casket will remain closed at the services.
