OBITUARY - RONALD LEE CALDWELL

Ronald Lee CALDWELL was born on December 17, 1936 to Burr and Bernice CALDWELL formerly of Mt. Ayr, Ia. He was the last of ten children. Ron spent his early years in the Mt. Ayr and Redding areas. In his early twenties Ron served in the Army for nearly three years where he attained the rank of Sgt. in the Signal Corp.

In December 1959 Ron married Mary Judith SEAT. To that union three children were welcomed, JuLee, Monica, and Troy.

Judy passed away in 1969.

Ron married Maryann CAVIN and the three older children welcomed their sister, Tawnia. Ron and Maryann later divorced but remained friends.

Ron and Sharon JONES were married in 1982, and the last two of his six children, Melissa and Eric were born.

In 1999 he met and married Diane RUMLEY with whom he spent 6 years. In November of 2005 Diane lost a courageous battle with cancer and Ron was widowed again.

Ron spent his life as a skilled carpenter working in southern Iowa and northern Missouri until 2001 when a fall from a roof forced him to retire due to injuries sustained.

Ron loved life! His passion was playing bass guitar in a country band with his brother Jack.

Later in life Ron’s focal point became religion. He accepted the lord early in his life, but later became more focused on making sure others had also accepted Christ as their Savior.

Ron departed this life on March 8, 2009, at Bright Kavanaugh House in Des Moines, Iowa. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Burr and Bernice CALDWELL and siblings: Rex, Lyle, Jack, Janis Ruth, Maxine, Rowena, and Helen.
