ED BEATTY DIED

All our older citizens will remembered Ed Beatty, second son of Mr. and Mrs. John BEATTY. We were notified of his death, which occurred at Bloomington, Illinois. He was a long time prominent farmer living across the Platte River, east. Back in the 20's, he moved to Illinois. Those survive him, the wife; two sons, Watson and John Bert BEATTY; one sister Mrs. Billie SMITH, and two brothers, Will and Clyde BEATTY.

S.E. BEATTY DIES, ILL SIX WEEKS

Was Member of Masonic Groups

Stephen Edgar BEATTY, 75, 1221 East Washington street, died Saturday night at St. Joseph's hospital after a six weeks' illness.

He was born in Oak Grove Sept. 10, 1867, son of John and Sarah BEATTY. He moved to Iowa with his parents when he was two, and moved back to Bloomington in 1892.

On Feb. 10, 1892, he married Miss Ella Mae BUNNELL. They celebrated their golden anniversary last year. Mr. BEATTY's father founded the "My Store," and for many years Mr. BEATTY worked there. Later he and his wife moved to Iowa. They returned to Bloomington 17 years ago. Since then Mr. BEATTY has operated the Sinclair filling station at the corner of Main and Baker streets.

Surviving are his wife and two sons, Watson B. of Randolph and John Burt of Ferndale, Mich. Others surviving are a sister, Mrs. Annabel SMITH of Des Moines, Ia., and two brothers, Clyde of Lucas, Ia., and William of Des Moines. A daughter, Carrie Belle and a brother, Adam, preceded him in death.

Mr. BEATTY was a member of the Masonic Blue lodge and the Shrine.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Mr. S. E. BEATTY -- memorial services will be held in the Flinspach funeral home, Main and Filmore streets, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Friends invited. Interment will be made in the Park Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.

150 ATTENDED DOUBLE GOLDEN WEDDING PARTY

One hundred fifty guests attended the open house Sunday that marked the double golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen E. BEATTY, 1221 East Washington street, and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. DOOLEY of Downs. The party was held at the BEATTY's home.

A sister of Mrs. BEATTY and Mrs. DOOLEY, Mrs. Harry L. BUSH of Cleveland, Ohio was among the guests. Others who came from a distance to attend the celebration were Kliffe W. DOOLEY of Portsmouth, Va., and Mrs. Ira CAMPBELL of Lenox, Ia.
