OBITUARY - JAMES M. THOMPSON.

James Madison THOMPSON, son of Jesse and Jane THOMPSON, was born June 2, 1851, in Hendricks county, Indiana, and departed this life November 16, 1922, at Mount Ayr, Iowa, aged seventy-one years, five months and fourteen days. At the age of five years he moved with this parents to Iowa, and resided on a farm in Poe township. His marriage to Minerva SULLIVAN took place December 24, 1871, and to this union four children were born. One son and one daughter died in infancy. The wife and mother died January 25, 1890. The daughter, Mrs. Ethel MEADE, died November 30, 1920. One son, Grant of Missula Montana, survives him. He was converted into the Baptist faith at Grant City, Mo., about forty years ago and has since ived a consistent christian life. Years ago he moved to Harrison county, Mo., and on January 29, 1893, he was again married to Mrs. Katie HUFFMAN, who departed this life on June 24, 1920. In the fall of 1920 he moved to Mount Ayr, Iowa, and has since made his home until his death.

NOTE: James Madison THOMPSON was interred at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Ringgold County, Iowa.

James' first wife, Minerva (SULLIVAN) THOMPSON, died at the age of 35 years, 7 months and 25 days on January 25, 1890 with interment at Maple Row Cemetery. Eva C. THOMPSON died on February 16, 1881 at the age of five months and 23 days with interment at Maple Row Cemetery.
